PlayStation Blog has introduced Minato, a new playable fighter coming to DEAD OR ALIVE 6 Last Round. The post was published on September 9 and says the character is expected to debut the following day, September 10, although it does not provide a release time or regional schedule.
Minato is presented as a seemingly ordinary student attending school in Tokyo. She is cheerful and outgoing, but the post says much of her private life remains mysterious. After winning a world-class dance competition on her first attempt, she earned the nickname “Tokyo JK.”
The post links Minato to NiCO and the M.I.S.T. organization. Minato uses a contact lens-like device currently under development by NiCO that converts the movements of other fighters into signals her body can replicate. That allows her to reproduce techniques used by competitors in the DOA tournament.
The concept also shapes her combat style. Minato fights with dance-inspired attacks, including vertical and horizontal spins, and the PlayStation Blog identifies the Minato Shuffle as one of her signature moves. The description also characterizes her as a fighter intended to be approachable for beginners, while retaining a broad selection of attacks.
DEAD OR ALIVE 6 Last Round is officially listed for PlayStation 5, Steam and Xbox Series X|S. The PlayStation Store also lists a free-to-play Core Fighters edition for PS5, but the available announcement does not confirm whether Minato will be included in that edition or how the character will be distributed.
The announcement does not specify a price, a Character Unlock Key, a season pass requirement or whether the launch will happen simultaneously across regions. It also does not confirm Minato’s availability on PlayStation 4.
