SHUEISHA GAMES and LASTWONDER have announced HOSHiN ENGi Re:surrection, a new single-player action roguelite coming to PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2 and Steam. The game is scheduled for 2027, but neither the publisher nor the PlayStation Store has announced a specific release date.
The first trailer was published on September 9 by the official SHUEISHA GAMES YouTube channel. The announcement describes the project as a new story set in the world of HOSHiN ENGi, Ryu Fujisaki’s Chinese-mythology fantasy manga serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump.
According to the official PlayStation Store page, the game takes place 30 years after the manga’s ending and follows a new hero drawn by Fujisaki. The available description presents it as an original story set after the events of the manga, without detailing whether it should be considered a direct continuation, adaptation or reinterpretation beyond that framing.
LASTWONDER is developing the game, while SHUEISHA GAMES is handling publication. The official material describes a hack-and-slash combat system built around Paope, mythic treasures wielded by gods and immortals, alongside shifting dungeons and spirit beasts. Those details establish the game’s core premise, but the announcement has not yet documented its full progression system, modes or character lineup.
The PS5 version is listed with support for the DualSense wireless controller’s vibration function. The PlayStation Store page still shows the release date as to be determined, so the publisher’s 2027 window should not be read as a confirmed month or day. The available sources also do not confirm whether the PS5, Switch 2 and Steam versions will launch simultaneously.
The game is also listed on Steam with a planned 2027 release, LASTWONDER as developer, SHUEISHA GAMES as publisher and single-player support. The publisher’s page lists English, Japanese, Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese among the available languages, but final regional availability and the distribution plans for each platform have not been specified.
